About the Thematic Fields:
Thematic fields derive from the deployment of the Program's two broad lines of research. Each field brings together a set of thematic axes, theoretical-conceptual reflections and privilege approaches in PROPAD, which translate, in our daily lives, into spaces for dialogue (research and study centers, seminars and meetings, disciplines offered, research projects), and in diversified activities for exchanges between teachers and students. Flexibility and dynamism are sought with the Thematic Fields at the same time as they reflect the consistency and specialization in research subjects of the teachers that compose them. An advantage of the Subject Fields is that they can be adjusted according to changes in the faculty and dynamism of research interests, when necessary.
RESEARCH LINES:
I - ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT - GO
The line of research Organizational Management (GO) addresses the traditional functional areas of Administration, such as Marketing, Finance, Strategies, Logistics and Information Management. Teachers linked to this line develop studies with emphasis, but not exclusively, on service management, international business, retail, and hospitality. The researchers developed and the thesis and dissertations oriented seek to emphasize the understanding of the daily strategies and actions of the organizations, searching for proposals for the improvement of business performance and a more realistic understanding of the challenges of the administration.
The following Thematic Fields are associated with the GO line:
1- Strategy, Operations and Sustainability - EOS
2- Finance - F
3- Management of Marketing and Services and Information Technology - GMSTI
II - ORGANIZATION AND SOCIETY - OeS
The Organization and Society (OES) line of research is characterized by its interdisciplinarity both in research topics and in methodological approaches. It presents a space where the connected researchers can associate theories and knowledge of different areas of the social sciences in the problems of the management of the organizations. In this way, the diversity of topics and methodological perspectives allow the development of studies not traditionally associated to the administration area, avoiding the common place, without loss of focus in the area of concentration of the Administration. It seeks to advance knowledge of the area through eclectic, subjective approaches, and not always through applied research.
The following Thematic Fields are associated with the OES line:
1- Construction of Knowledge and Action - CCA
2- Creativity, Mobility and Participatory Culture - CMCP
3- Development, Politics and Work - DPT
