In the 2021-2024 quadrennium, the PPGGBM established partnerships with 81 international institutions (see Interactive Map for the location of the institutions), involving over 110 international researchers from 24 countries (South Africa, Germany, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, USA, France, Netherlands, India, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Pakistan, Portugal, Qatar, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, and Uruguay).

The predominant type of international collaboration involves participation in joint projects and research (19 faculty members), followed by co-authorship in publications (17 faculty members) and articles in preparation (13 faculty members). Additionally, the collaboration of 10 faculty members involves or involved partnerships abroad that included co-supervision or training of students or faculty members (click here to see a detailed table).

Purpose: Learning the oligo-FISH technique (chromosome painting and barcode), which was later implemented at LGBV (UFPE), enabling the identification of chromosomes and the main rearrangements related to diversification between and within Vigna and Phaseolus.
