About the Program
The Graduate Program in Genetics and Molecular Biology (PPGGBM) aims to train human resources, tem como meta formar recursos humanos through the development of innovative and high-quality scientific work in the fields of Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics, sendo o primeiro curso na área com os níveis de mestrado e doutorado na região nordeste do Brasil. It is the first program in this area offering master's and doctoral degrees in the northeast region of Brazil.
It has a single area of concentration: GENETICS, MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND BIOINFORMATICS, which includes two research lines: (1) MOLECULAR GENETICS AND EVOLUTION and (2) MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND BIOINFORMATICS. The program features a network of integrated laboratories, internationally recognized faculty, funded projects, high-quality scientific production, and national and international partnerships, both public and private. There is a constant search for improvement of administrative and academic procedures, aiming to fully achieve its scientific, technological and social objectives.
