Former GPPT students will be able to articulate interdisciplinary knowledge from the different areas that make up the Program. They may work in teaching, management, research, and assistance in public or private companies in the fields of health and/or education, acting as an agent to modify practices and processes, always seeking to transpose scientific evidence into clinical practice and contribute through methodological rigor, and scientific and technological foundations for the development of physiotherapy as a profession.

In addition, the objectives of the GPPT are achieved when a professional continues their training process by seeking a doctorate, is currently in other programs, or is active in the labor market as a physiotherapist or a professor in a higher education institution.

The profiles of our former students corroborate the new 2019–2023 Institutional Development Plan (IDP), which states that “this commitment implies the necessary technical-scientific preparation for the production and application of knowledge, besides the skills, attitude, and abilities that characterize the ability to diagnose, analyze, and contextualize typical problems in a professional area; the defense of human rights and the ability to act in a critical, autonomous, and creative way to meet the demands of social life; the development of the capacity to act as a team in the individual and collective defense of the common good; the communicative capacity to compose teams in the development of an integrated and contributory work, which presupposes investments in the ongoing formation itself, recognizing themselves as an unfinished being and in search of constant scientific and technical improvement. The formative course of UFPE scholars prepares professionals with a solid scientific, humanistic and cultural basis for a propositional action committed to the search for solutions to the social issues demanded by contemporaneity.”

In the eleven years of the program, the GPPT has awarded more than 150 Masters in Physiotherapy—handing over a professional of academic excellence to society, who, after finishing their master’s degree, becomes active in the state of Pernambuco, other Brazilian states and regions, and in other countries.

From this universe of former students, several professionals have made us proud with their successful career path.

Currently, the GPPT is represented by its former students through their placement in public and private higher education institutions, as effective or substitute professors, public service physiotherapists, professional association representatives, doctoral and post-doctoral students, among others.
