About the Alumni:

The PPGEQ-UFPE monitors the professional performance of its alumni and their collaboration with the scientific, technological, educational and social communities in general. The result of the survey on alumni in the last 5 years (2015 to 2019) showed that the vast majority (94.9% of interviewed) are inserted in the labor market, working in several areas, including industry, public and private higher education institutions, public agencies, class entities. Besides, different economic activities are performed, such as, for example, self-employed entrepreneur, consultant, environmental analyst, specialist and company engineer. A significant percentage (57%) of the master's degree alumni continued their doctoral studies, either at PPGEQ-UFPE or in other institutions in Brazil or abroad. Among the interviewed, 7.6% reported that they did or are currently doing a post-doctoral internship. Further results on the alumni were as follows:

- 46.8% work in an educational institution;

- 85.3% work in teaching, research and community outreach programs in some educational institution;

- 82.4% work in the same field of their postgraduate studies, among those who work in some educational institution;

- 3.8% work in private companies and / or in research centers from private companies;

- 12.7% work in the industry;

- 3.8% work as self-employed entrepreneurs;

- 21.5% work in public corporations (which are not educational institutions); 

 

In terms of intellectual production, the amount of articles published in journals represents an average greater than 4 articles per alumni. According the alumni who responded to the survey, 15.2% reported some activity at an international educational, research or technological development institution after graduating.
