Professor Gilda Guimarães from the Federal University of Pernambuco/Brazil, coordinator of GREF – Study Group on Statistical Education in Elementary Education, develops together with professor Izabella Oliveira from Université Laval in Quebec/Canada a research project entitled “Teaching and learning of statistics and probability in Basic and Higher Education”. These researchers have been developing joint research projects since 2012 and from them articles have been published in national and international magazines, presentations at scientific events, sandwich doctorates and postdocs in Canada, technical visits, participation of master's and doctorate boards, guidance joint activities, among other activities.

 

 

 

Professors Carlos Monteiro and Liliane Carvalho of the Federal University of Pernambuco/ Brazil, coordinators of the GPEMCE - Research Group on Mathematics Education in the Contexts of Field Education, and GPEME - Research Group on Mathematics and Statistics Education develop academic activities with international collaborator, Professor Theodosia Prodromou at the University of New England, Australia, since 2015. Among the academic cooperation activities, we highlight discussion of research data, publication of international book chapters, submission of projects to national and international research support agencies.

 

Professors Carlos Monteiro and Liliane Carvalho of the Federal University of Pernambuco / Brazil, coordinators of GPEMCE - Research Group on Mathematics Education in the Contexts of Field Education, and GPEME - Research Group on Mathematics and Statistics Education develop academic activities with international collaborator Professor Carolina Carvalho from the Institute of Education at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, since 2006. Among the academic cooperation activities, we highlight the development of research projects, discussion of research data, participation in master's and doctoral boards in both countries, publication of articles in international journals , presentation and publication in annals of international conferences, book chapters, submission of projects to national and international research support agencies. Carlos Monteiro held a Post-Doctoral Internship between 2014 and 2015 financed by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel - Brazil (CAPES), Professor Liliane Carvalho is currently carrying out her training license, both projects carried out the Institute of Education at the University of Lisbon in collaboration with Professor Carolina Carvalho.

The research group Digital Media and Intercultural Mediations MDMI/CNPq at the Federal University of Pernambuco, led by professor Ana Beatriz Gomes Carvalho and linked to the Graduate Program in Mathematics and Technological Education at the Federal University of Pernambuco, has been carrying out academic partnership actions with the research group Digital Media and Education - DIMEb from the Mathematics and Computer Sciences department at Universität Bremen, Germany, since 2017. With the visit of Dr. Iris Bockermann to Edumatec in 2018, a cooperation agreement was signed between the two universities to develop research and partnerships in projects related to technology, maker culture and Education.

Professor Iranete Maria da Silva Lima, leader of the Teaching, Learning and Educational Processes Group (GPENAPE) and coordinator of the Center for Research, Extension and Training in Rural Education (NUPEFEC), works in partnership with Prof. Dr. Luc Trouche, professor emeritus at the Institut Français de l'Education (IFE) and with professors Ole Skovsmose and Miram Penteado Godoy from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP – Campus Rio Claro). Among the academic cooperation activities, the development of the research project stands out, within the framework of the CNPq Universal Call 2018, on the documentation system for teachers who teach mathematics in rural schools in Brazil, in which other UFPE teachers participate, master's and doctoral students at EDUMATEC. A postdoctoral internship is also ongoing in this cooperation.
