The Faculty Members of the PPGBAS are composed of researchers from institutions outside the UFPE, namely, Ana Porto and Pabyton Cadena (Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco; UFRPE), Sinara Almeida (Universidade Estadual de Pernambuco (UPE), Luiz Alves (Centro de Pesquisas Aggeu Magalhães; CPqAM/FIOCRUZ), Wilson Nadruz (UNICAMP) and Sandra Mattos (Real Hospital Português de Beneficência em Pernambuco).

Relevant participations in the PPGBAS are the visiting researchers Attilio Converti (Universita' Degli Studi Di Genova, Italy), José António Couto Teixeira (Universidade do Minho, Portugal) and Sergio de Aguiar Lira (Immunology Institute, Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, USA).

LIKA annually organizes an event called International Symposium on Diagnostics and Therapeutics (SINATER). This initiative has the PPGBAS support where all MSc and PhD students present the results of their researchers. Many international and national researchers are invited to give both conference and courses.
