The Molecular Prospecting and Bioinformatics group's mission is to stimulate scientific curiosity, develop scientific thinking, and improve the vision of science as a tool for an individual's quality of life. In the scientific field, we use molecular tools to identify diagnostic, prognostic and/or therapeutic biomarkers focusing on different diseases, such as cancer, congenital heart and cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, as well as infectious diseases. To this end, we seek to build a multidisciplinary team active in different areas of knowledge and capable of developing computational, laboratory or clinical activities. Our team develops projects that aim at research-assistance and university-business interaction as a way of bringing science to society.
